Lorenzo Biferale

Lorenzo is a researcher and cultural practitioner working at the intersection of cultural policy, creative industries, and youth engagement. He holds a PhD in Economic Geography and Regional Science with visiting experience at King’s College London, and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Chieti-Pescara. Alongside his academic work, Lorenzo is Founder and President of Quindici19, a youth-driven cultural association that curates Duemila30, an international film festival and residency on social impact storytelling. He also collaborates with KEA European Affairs. His work combines hands-on cultural management with research on inclusion, innovation, and transnational collaboration, with a strong focus on empowering young people and fostering dialogue across borders.

Aline Albertelli

Aline, a curious passionate about art and culture. Currently donning the hat of a consultant at KEA, she supports research, project management and communication roles. Armed with a background in cultural economics and management, her journey weaves through the creative sector. Before the KEA chapter, Aline delved into the worlds of creative start-ups, artists’ studios, and research on cultural policy, specifically exploring avenues to nurture creative entrepreneurship and forge public-private partnerships for cultural heritage.

María Ruigómez Eraso

María is a PhD candidate in Archaeology at the University of Cambridge, specialising in heritage studies, memory politics, and cultural diplomacy. Her doctoral thesis will examine how state actors make use of heritage restitutions to actively recontextualise contested historical figures and reshape collective memory. Through this project, she aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of why state actors engage in acts of atonement beyond cultural diplomacy. Her OOC AHRC DTP studentship is co-funded by Jesus College. María received her MA in Cultural Heritage Studies from Central European University (Vienna) in 2024. Alongside her academic studies, she has gained practical experience as a staff member of the restitution department at Christie's, and the international department at the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, as well as a researcher on European cultural policies at KEA European Affairs. María is originally from Bilbao, Spain, and speaks Spanish, German, English and French.

Federica Antonucci

Federica, Post-doc at Iuav Venice is a researcher and consultant at KEA European Affairs. She is contributing to studies on culture, innovation, new media, and the impact of cultural and creative industries. Federica has an economic background and quantitative competencies in research methodologies.

Rhian O'Sullivan

Rhian is a junior researcher and consultant at KEA, where she supports the team’s work in cultural policy and EU research projects. She holds an MA in Arts Management and a BA in European Studies and Politics from University College Cork. Her research interests focus on the interplay between cultural policy, equality, and spatial planning, and she has professional experience across the contemporary art, museum, and heritage sectors in Ireland and abroad.

Arthur Le Gall

Arthur has more than 10 years of experience in the field of culture and creative industries, performing and managing a wide range of projects covering, for example: public policies for the audiovisual, cultural and creative sectors; methodologies to assess the contribution the cultural and audiovisual sectors to the wider society and economy; impact of culture on local and regional development; access to finance and new business models for cultural and creative companies; cultural diversity and access to creative content; and cultural economics, with several market reports conducted at EU and national level. Arthur is also secretary-general of b.creative, a global network of cultural entrepreneurs and has organised and facilitates large conferences and events for the network (yearly since 2017).

Philippe Kern

Philippe Kern is the founder and managing director of KEA, an international consultancy based in Brussels, advising on culture and creative industries since 1999. He has led major European and international projects and serves as an expert adviser to the EU, WIPO, and various public and private organizations. Kern also teaches at Kedge Business School and EPFL, and previously worked at PolyGram and IFPI. He founded IMPALA in 2000 and chairs b.creative, a global network of creative entrepreneurs. He holds law degrees from Strasbourg, Paris, and the College of Europe.

Mariaelena Maieron

Mariaelena is an independent curator of contemporary art projects. She engages in constant study of the market and its internal dynamics through her collaboration with the Milanese gallery BIANCHIZARDIN, where she serves as artist liaison and head of communications & media relations. In 2023, she became executive producer for Nova Express, a magazine that promotes a cross-disciplinary vision among the arts. After the course in Digital Curation at the MEET Digital Cultural Center she entered the world of new technologies becoming account manager of the start-up Wide VR.

Ellen Loots

As an Associate Professor of Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Ellen’s ambition lies in the harmonious integration of two vital themes: entrepreneurship and creativity. Through her work in education, research, and professional engagements, she aspires to intertwine these elements while upholding the values of sustainability and community. By fostering innovation and collaboration, she aims to empower individuals and organizations to explore new frontiers and make meaningful contributions to both society and the environment, through their activities in the arts and cultural and creative sectors. In the pilot edition of Radical Creativities, Ellen discusses how the arts can play a role in societal challenges through collective actions and contemporary commissioning.
