The Radical Creativities Journal is a peer-reviewed journal that challenges traditional scientific publication models and knowledge systems. We accept all types of cultural expression (academic contributions, recordings, poems, films, art pieces, …), in all languages and all mediums. Key to this process of exchange is our peer-review process: contributions are revised by other contributors, knowledgeable of the topic but not the medium, to gather valuable cross-insights. This, we believe, initiates a process of de-confinement of traditional knowledge production methods.

This pilot issue sets out the ethos of Radical Creativities, bringing together a diverse range of voices and practices to show how cultural and creative actions can spark just and equitable transformations. Here, creativity is plural—rooted in complexity, woven through community, and explored through research, art, and other media. By embracing different perspectives, this issue lays the foundation for an inclusive platform where cultural practitioners, researchers, artists, and curators can come together and engage in meaningful dialogue, illustrating the transformative power that cultural practices hold.
Building on the principles outlined in the pilot, Issue 1 transforms intent into action. Professionals from various fields offer their insights through multiple methodologies and media, ranging from research and poetry to participatory design, all enriched by a dynamic peer review process that sets a common ground for exchange. Together, these contributions highlight themes of co-creation, collaboration, and the delicate interplay of nature, community, past, and present. With this issue, Radical Creativities not only presents a rich tapestry of transformative cultural practices, but also encourages deeper engagement, inviting readers to see, listen, reflect, and ultimately help shape a more inclusive, sustainable, and creatively engaged world.
